For General Tips and Tricks

If you want to find out how to set up a new email account, have questions about composing email, adding calendar events or using any other feature in Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop, the End User Guide is a great place to start. It has helpful tutorials, pictures and a searchable help index.

You can also take a look at the FAQ on our wiki where there are answers to a wide range of questions beyond basic usability in the End User Guide. Here you can find out anything from what languages are supported to more technical answers for developers about checking error logs.

Using the Zimbra Community and Forums

If you do not see an answer for your question in the End User Guide or FAQ, the Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop forum is a great place to hear from an expert. You can browse past questions and answers, ask your own question or let us know if you have found a bug.

Zimbra Network Edition Customers

If your organization is a Network Edition customer you may contact the Zimbra Support team for questions or problems using Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop with Zimbra Collaboration Server. Please contact your support desk or IT manager about this process.

If your organization is running Zimbra Collaboration Suite Open Source Edition you must use the Zimbra community and the Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop forums.

Non-Zimbra Email Accounts

The Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop application can manage just about any other non-Zimbra email account such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and POP / IMAP email. We pre-configure settings where possible and provide documentation on how to manage many external email accounts, however these third party services are not supported by the Zimbra Support team.

Third party external email services are maintained at the sole discretion of their respective provider; we are reliant on their implementation and documentation of standards to access your data. Thus if a third party service and/or its APIs are labeled beta by their provider, we also consider the implementation of these services in Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop as beta. As these services improve their interfaces we will incorporate their updates into our application.

The following third party services / API’s in Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop are considered beta:

  • Yahoo! Mail
  • Yahoo! Address Book
  • Yahoo! Calendar
  • Gmail
  • Google Address Book
  • Google Calendar
